doing everything right and getting everything wrong, and yet, somehow, still getting it all right8/1/2015 Everything happens for a reason. Cliche? Yes, absolutely. But, I’m one tough cookie to try and convince otherwise. It’s my belief in this reasoning that has brought so much explanation to why things happen when and how they do. Of course, we can all sit and trivialize every challenge we face, but there’s really no point. Why didn’t I get that job? Why doesn’t he like me? When is it my turn? Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s no harm in looking to others to admire their way of life and for advice on handling similar situations you may be facing, but the constant comparison of yourself to another human being is completely unnecessary. We all have a life to live, a story to tell, and a purpose for being. One person’s accomplishments do not diminish nor devalue your own. Know that. Your purpose in this world has no lesser meaning than any other simply because you stand at different pathways in life. You are meant to move from the ever-constantly-changing Point A to Point B, with or without your own decisions to blame. Some situations happen even beyond your own control. "Success is not built on success. It's built on failure. It's built on frustration. Sometimes its built on catastrophe." Sumner Redstone Many of those closest to me know that I have struggled to find steady employment since relocating. However, as the Sent Folder of emails with resume attachments continues to multiply with each passing hour, I have grown to appreciate more of what I am capable of on my own. My freelance client base is building, my portfolio is growing, and my experience is forever adapting to new projects. It is because of Sevenelle that I can hold my head high and proud. It gives me the power to envision a future. I’m beginning to sincerely believe my future lies in my own hands, and as I’m learning, not necessarily at the delegations of a corporate giant. Because of several instances that have gone awry and completely out of my own control, I can only construe this all to fate. I am simply not meant to be working for those incredible companies at this time. I am left with hope but very little promise. But, despite the many failures I’ve faced recently, I continue to stand tall (well, as tall as 5’ 2”), and reach to establish new connections in search of greater opportunity than what is before me. What may not work now could work in a month, a week, even tomorrow. The trick is to keep looking ahead. Since officially beginning Sevenelle, I’ve grown to meet so many people and learn of their experiences and truly appreciate their stories. Those around me have been the greatest motivation and support I could ever imagine and it is because of the people in my life that I can continue to work for my dreams and really aspire to do and be more, no matter how much I’ve been knocked down. I have so much gratitude for all that is happened, both the successes and the failures. "Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war." Donald Trump Facing so much rejection without explanation truly takes a hit on your confidence. You start to wonder if you’re significant enough to make a difference, if you’re realistic in your ideation of the world, and if you’re strong enough to move forward when everything else just seems to push back. I know I stand with a great path before me, and I’m not sure what tomorrow holds. All I know is to have faith that, whether it be success or failure, it all happens for a reason.
